Pressure Obama to support marriage equality

We can band together to support President Obama making the right decision on marriage equality. Obama's own words "I do not support gay marriage" were used to help pass Proposition 8 in California.

Create an independent online People's Party

Frederic Bastiat once pointed out in his seminal work: 'The Law', "When people's true political aspirations are accurately reflected by their political parties, all will seek the common good."

We all know Obama is just like any other politician, and so he will use his 1.5 million volunteers and 13-million email address to support his own political agenda. Fair enough.

But what if Obama was really different than other politicians and did something that would create for him a singular place in history other than being the first black President?

What if he used his 1.5 million volunteers and 13-million email address to not only support his political agenda, but to create an independent online People's Party?

It would, in fact, act to curtail the influence of special interests, and provide a regulating body to keep elected public officials in line. But most importantly of all, it would force the other major political party to do the same thing -- and Obama would go down in history as the real Father of Democracy.

    Put us to work.

There are huge problems facing the United States today, Global Warming, the global economic meltdown, global terrorism, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and on and on and on.

If you want to keep the movement alive give us something to do. What can each one of us do right now to influence these global trends while also healing our community? We need audacious goals and tasks to motivate us and keep us going.

Tell us how we can help to solve global warming. Tell us how we can help end the economic meltdown, and help those most affected by it.
Tell us how we can build stronger communities.

We are waiting. We are ready. Put us to work. Can we solve these problems as a nation? Yes we can.

Pressure Obama to respect voters' decision on Prop 8

The proposition was on the ballot and passed. If it had lost, people would be expected to live with it. Well, it passd. People are fed up with activist courts trying to change laws to suit the judges' personal beliefs.

something has to be done about the vote rigging problems.

Strict regulations have to be put in place and enforced so that elections cannot be stolen. Diebold has been accused by whistleblowers of having rigged elections. It's time to treat our votes as being as precious as we treat cash.

President Obama declassify China as Most Favored Nation trad

China is our Most Favored Nation trading partner and it's destroying this country. Ignoring the poisonous materials and ingredients in the goods they send us, they refuse to bring their manufacturing facilities and practices up to 21st century standards in regards to the environment and human rights. How does it look for us to strive towards democracy and environmental friendliness while our biggest trade partner flouts them?

Create a Grassroots Net to support localized Dem 'Farm Team'

A national organization made up of local groups can have a tremendous impact on local politics.

We, as Democrats, do not have a 'farm team' concept. Our true power in this new organizational entity could have two parts:
    1. Supporting candidates, even in non-partisan races, all the way down to the water company level and then upwards to Federal office.
    2. Providing the seed money for a campaign. A campaign has to show it's own support and intelligence in gathering funds. It's part of showing you are a good candidate and can move people with your message and delivery. It is, however, extremely hard to raise the basic seed money to effectively start a campaign.

Combine these two concepts and within a few election cycles we will have more Democrats in offices all over the country promoting inclusive, positive and tangible concepts.

Promote simple facts-not-fear public awareness of issues

Use the Obama movment to educate and motivate the public to make the small changes now that pay big dividends in our quality of life 20 years from now.

Specifically, what are the issues that are bigger than us.. We all know the ones that affect us directly.. but what about the nation? what about the economy? the environment? Is there an energy crisis? What are the options? What are the trends and where are we heading.. take that "Yes, We Can" attitude to the next step.. not just overcoming presidential stagnation but lets take it to the awareness of humanity.. and I'm not talking little things like personal freedoms and one off laws.. do the research and educate the public on the things we can't forget to keep supporting.. the things that everything else relies on. .. the course and health of our nation that's bigger than any one of us.. the kind of thing worth volunteering for.

Don't you wish you knew what was really important? 3 million eyes and ears, 1.5 million voices asking questions and breaking it down for the rest of us. Yes, we can.

Work for unity in the country

This election and politics in general has created a great red/blue divide and as a country we are black and blue from the debates. We should all go talk with (and listen to) our red-state or red-county counterparts and work to heal the talking-head wounds that have been inflicted on both sides.

Focused Discussion & Voting on Proposed Policies

In a way, this site is already doing groundwork for such approach. However, it is a bit narrow-minded. Not all technologies are high tech. We often need low tech solutions that will benefit all in the society.
I would suggest a site that will enable in depth discussions on issues, proposed policies as solutions and voting for alternatives. All should be welcome, including non-US-citizens, since much of what US does is reflected in the rest of the world.
The proposed site should be moderated. This will result in delays, but the quality will be enhanced.
    Kind regards,
    Damir Ibrisimovic
